LifeTrace is built by Scietas Technologies ("we", "us", "our"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use the LifeTrace website, desktop application, and related services.

2. Local-First Architecture

LifeTrace is designed with privacy as a core architectural principle. All corpus ingestion, embedding generation, PII scanning, and persona inference occur entirely on your device. Your corpus data is encrypted at rest using keys derived from your passphrase and is never transmitted to our servers in plaintext.

3. Information We Collect

We may collect the following information:

  • Account information: Email address when you join our waitlist or create an account.
  • Usage analytics: Anonymized app usage statistics (e.g., connector types used, corpus health scores) — no corpus content.
  • Device information: Device type, operating system version, and app version for compatibility and support.
  • Contact submissions: Name, email, and message content when you use our contact form.

4. Information We Do Not Collect

  • Your corpus content (emails, documents, chat messages, voice recordings)
  • Embeddings or vector representations of your data
  • Persona conversation logs or interaction history
  • Encryption keys or passphrases
  • Third-party personal data identified in your corpus

5. Optional Encrypted Sync

If you enable cross-device sync, your data is encrypted end-to-end before leaving your device. Our sync servers store only opaque encrypted blobs and sync metadata. We cannot decrypt your data and do not have access to your encryption keys.

6. Third-Party Data Protection

Your corpus may contain personal information about other people (e.g., in emails or chat messages). LifeTrace automatically scans for third-party PII at ingestion and provides controls to tag, mask, or exclude this data. We encourage you to respect others' privacy when building your corpus.

7. Data Security

We implement robust security measures including: SQLCipher encryption for structured data, libsodium secretbox encryption for artifacts, Argon2id key derivation, encrypted data transmission (TLS), and regular security audits.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal information at any time. You can export or permanently delete your entire corpus locally. For account-related requests, contact us at [email protected].

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes via email or in-app notification. Continued use of LifeTrace after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
