1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using LifeTrace's website, desktop application, or related services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. LifeTrace is a product of Scietas Technologies (Scietas Group LLC).

2. Description of Service

LifeTrace provides a privacy-preserving corpus capture and AI persona system comprising: data connectors and ingestion tools, corpus health analysis, RAG-grounded persona interaction, and optional encrypted cross-device sync.

3. Your Data

You retain full ownership of your corpus data at all times. LifeTrace processes your data locally on your device. We do not claim any rights to your corpus content, embeddings, or persona outputs. You may export or delete your data at any time.

4. Accounts and Subscriptions

Certain features may require an account or paid subscription. You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and encryption passphrase. Subscription terms, including pricing and billing cycles, will be displayed at the time of purchase.

5. Consent and Third-Party Data

You are responsible for ensuring that your use of LifeTrace complies with applicable laws regarding data collection, consent, and privacy. When ingesting data that contains information about other people, you must comply with relevant consent requirements in your jurisdiction.

6. Memorial Mode

If you enable memorial mode (allowing others to interact with your persona after your death), you must provide explicit pre-mortem consent and designate an executor. Memorial access can be revoked at any time while you are alive. Your designated executor may permanently delete your corpus and persona.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the Service to create personas of other people without their explicit consent
• Use the Service for fraud, impersonation, or deception
• Attempt to circumvent encryption, access controls, or security measures
• Use the Service to infringe on others' privacy or intellectual property rights
• Distribute corpus data or persona outputs in ways that violate applicable law

8. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind. We do not warrant that persona outputs will be accurate, complete, or consistent with your actual views, beliefs, or personality.

9. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Scietas Technologies shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the Service, including but not limited to loss of data, emotional distress, or reputational harm.

10. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes will be communicated via email or in-app notification at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the Service constitutes acceptance of modified terms.
